The Kava Library
A Library of Information About Kava
Our Mission Statement
The Kava Library is a depository of information about Kava, a botanical plant that has been used by islanders for 1000 of years for a variety of purposes. It is also home to the The Kava Library Newsletter. The purpose of library is twofold:
- To Educate the General Public about Kava, a Beneficial Ethnobotanical Plant, and jointly promote the safe use of Kava like it has been done by Islanders for 1000s of years. Please read our position paper.
- The Kava Library Email Service is devoted to desiminating the latest data and breakthroughs in the Kava Industry to its subscribers. At times we will alert you to promotional pricing on Kava Products.
We have recently added the Kavas of the World section which has content on Kavas from Fiji, Vanuatu, Tonga, etc. to complement our section on Hawaiian Kava. We are also publishing a consumer guide that sorts and displays Kava offerings from various vendors around the world. We hope these lists help you make an informed kava buying decision. We have a lot of work yet to do as we accumulate content and publish it. We will keep you informed as we progress. We urge all Kava Vendors, Kava Scientists, and other members of the kava community to send us any content you deem relevant.
About the Library
The Kava Library’s only mission is to post information about kava and primarily for people new to kava. Unlike some Kava Web Sites, we do not allow the posting of content that is derogatory or inflammatory. The Kava Library has recently been taken over by Chris Allen with Gourmet Hawaiian Kava and we are still in the process of completing the transfer between the old owner and Chris. Chris has been a big contributor of content to The Kava Library since its inception. He is both a Kava Farmer and Kava Historian and his goal is to continue to provide good information about kava to the world.
